Singapore Day 1: Gardens by the Bay [teaser]

Well, it was pretty fun to be going down Singapore with my close siblings and YenLeng, people that care the most about me basically...

The view here is amazing...I'm definitely not a "flower" or "garden" lover but the scene and view here are breathtaking...

It was definitely very tiring, with a lot of walking to be done but all of it was worth it when one look at the beauty in nature, something that tells us Someone is Up there and He knows what He is doing...

You look at this and you start to wonder...human can still create a lot of positives in life...not all is left hopeless...

We always need that Wow factor in life and I am still looking for it...maybe traveling into places could help me renew faith...

I'm happy that the people who love me continue to love and trust me...it means a lot...

This journey in the Gardens is definitely a beautiful and meaningful one...

There are times that we have to walk through those difficult steps and roads to see the beauty in life...
There are times that I have to do it alone but I know the search will be a worthwhile one, just like the trip today...

That's all for now...will post more on this once I get back to my laptop...

Life [Part 1]

Work has been a big part of my life recently, but I still make a lot of effort to ensure that I meet up with people, hang out and have fun...

During the Great Leo event....

Last month, while working during the Great Leo 2011/2012 event in Great Eastern, I met up with an old friend, Cheng Sai Mun and his girlfriend.

Sai Mun and I

Cani (Sai Mun's girlfriend) and I
We do not have much time to catch up but it is really good to get to meet old friends and know that they are doing well...am glad to see my friend doing good in his career and with a beautiful girlfriend as well.

I also have quite a lot of fun with my colleagues in Genting.

Irene and Alicia
We went for a short drinking session after work. It was relaxing and good to talk about life and hear from other stories...a lot of things to learn throughout those dialogue sessions.

Irene and I...a colleague that really take good care of me...
While taking breaks in between work...

With my new sister in E&P, Candice....somehow, we look a bit like stepsiblings hor? :-)

During the preparation

In formal wear

When my family and Yenleng came to KL....

My family and Yenleng actually came to KL to visit my grandma (admitted to IJN).

Since my grandma was recovering well, we were all in jolly mood...

Took this while in IJN
During junior and friends' convocation...

Trying on the graduation attire...oops...I'm too old for this already...

I couldn't really take photos with my junior as I had to work on that day but we went for some hang out sessions at night...am really happy to know people like KY, Siow Wei, May Kee, and Choon Foong...

And not forgetting...my Sports Science buddies...happy that you guys finally graduated!!

Some birthday celebrations....

Along the way, there was also some birthday celebrations with my colleagues...

Some snapshots that we took...

Well, there are more coming....

I have loads to talk about the Annual Dinner that I had, the time I hang out with some of my former university friends....people like Wen Shiuan and Chin May....

Then, the people whom I hold closest to my heart...my family members, YenLeng, some of my close friends that I have not get to see for a long long time....I think life is a funny story...there are those people who played such a significant role in your life, who no longer get to spend those special moments with you and yet you remember them so well. People like Liang Hin, Aunty Lindy and many others who help to build my character and strengthen me in times of need....and as I grow older, I began to understand...the stories of friendships and love...it is not about us anymore...it is about a community....about people....and how we make sense of those moments...because each moment carries its' own significant and beautiful value.

Response-ability [part 2]

There are many times that we are agitated by our surroundings...people that do not contribute to the working team....people who are not doing their jobs...either due to laziness or competence level...

I used to be very upset at situation like this...people who didn't finish their work, causing people to blame the department...and yet there are times that I wonder how could these people still sit there as if they are doing the right thing.

I know that I am not perfect as well and I have many flaws...am thankful to so many people that help me to grow along this journey...even as I start to look into the mirror, I knew there are so much that needs improvement...

I believe one of the keys is to focus on what we are capable of doing...enhance on those things and I believe the influence will expand...there are times that I really just don't want to do any of those "shits" but I believe learning from all these will keep me stronger, better and more mature...

I am Response-able....are you??

"you can kick me, punch me and try to knock me down but I'll keep coming back up..."

Response-ability

No other motivational books inspire me as much as the book by Stephen R. Covey, THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE.

For me, the first habit concludes his entire book...PROACTIVE. It was mainly talking about choices.
Whether you know it or not, it is carefully designed by you. The choices, after all, are yours. You choose happiness. You choose sadness. You choose decisiveness. You choose ambivalence. You choose success. You choose failure. You choose courage. You choose fear. Just remember that every moment, every situation, provides a new choice. And in doing so, it gives you a perfect opportunity to do things differently to produce more positive results.

Human beings are special because we are responsible....we have the ability to response....Response-ability.

Honestly, the last few weeks have been pretty disastrous...a lot of things that I'm not satisfied with...at times, it just felt like the world had just fallen apart. I am not the kind of person who talk about things to people...probably, it was due to what I learned in my younger days....

I have decided to push those feelings of miserable and disappointment aside. The truth is: by focusing on what I'm able to do to make things better have helped me to learn a lot of things as well....

So, if the next time you are feeling down, miserable or disappointed, it is not difficult to overcome those feelings...focus on what you are capable of making the things better and you will eventually see the impact of little things.
I am Response-able....are you?
