Happy Chinese New Year!!

Chinese New Year is a unique celebration because it focuses so much on the traditional values of love, family and togetherness. I remembered how we would be so excited in gathering on the eve of the Chinese New Year for the reunion dinner.

Now that I'm older, the excitement is far lesser but I am beginning to understand what it means to love and care for your family. The steps into adulthood are not easy but with the support of family, I know I can make it.

I guess I can only hope everyone to have an amazing Chinese New Year celebration together with their loved ones. Cherish the time that we have together because we might not have it forever.

Chinese New Year approaching....

Alright, so the Chinese New Year is approaching and I'm waiting to go back Ipoh. I'll be driving back later at midnight, about 3am....one of the reasons of doing so is to avoid jam...let's hope I made the right decision.

Anyway, it was a rather busy week at work before the Chinese New Year break and was really glad that Kah Hoe was in the team....there are a lot of things that I can learn from this experience.

Well, we did went for a simple "Lou Sang" session. (with some of my colleagues)

I went with Kah Hoe, Kelvin, Phoebe and Yong. It was a rather interesting lunch that we had that day. Probably because of the humour from Yong.

Besides this, I had a simple "LEPAK" session with the juniors and my housemates (excluding Aaron though). We went for a pool game and a makan session in mamak...

Alright...it's not mine....I don't have the money to buy this car...haha!!

Well, didn't really take much photos that day but I did took some video so probably will be uploading it later when I have more time.

This week was also a busy week as this is the first week that I actually have the time to complete all the 3 classes on weekdays for my students.
Honestly, these kids are a bunch of energetic and stubborn kids....in a way, like many of us, while we were young, we rushed to finish our homeworks, even without truly understanding them sometimes. I guess this is the Malaysia education culture....it doesn't matter whether you understand or not, so long as you score A. I'm hoping to do something different with them. I hope I can help more than scoring A but to develop the right attitude towards studies and life.

David, a standard 4 student who is energetic...

These are some of the students who were there when I went there earlier. These kids stayed together under the same roof and they are like "abang adik" to one another. They are amazingly independent, washing their own clothes, have a schedule for cooking and washing dishes as well as the toilets. They also have a schedule to wake up so that everyone can shower before school. (only 2 bathrooms in a floor)

Well, they are lacking of revision books. All they have: text books and some work books for them to do exercises. I definitely believe they need more. I posted on FB requesting if more people could donate their old books or sponsor some. Anyway, I'll take it slow with all these....hopefully, the Chinese New Year will bring a renewed enthusiasm in me to teach and in them to learn...

I guess there's all for now...time to pack to go home for CNY!! Let's hope going back at 3am is the right decision!! :-)

How many of you heard people mentioned about being very busy and yet having the time of their lives facebooking?

"I am very busy, but I have time to Facebook..."

That's the language we are speaking these days.

I was seriously surprise that people can be so proud when telling about others the amount of time spent Facebooking....and some are even proud to show the number of friends they have on Facebook. That is Social Network!!

I am from the same generation and yet I see that something is so wrong....the SOCIAL NETWORKING addicts are missing all the rest of the world merely for Facebook. I admit that having Facebook has its' benefits but let us not limit social into Facebook.

Maybe it is time to get yourself out of your PC, or notebook or iPad, and just start living. We only have one life and let us not regret it!!

And Mourinho is quick to point to the statistic to show how much Ronaldo has contributed in terms of his goal scoring record. The coach is also a master in terms of psychology and knows well not to put pressure onto Ronaldo in scoring goals.

"But do you know which game of his I've liked best?" he continued. "The second half he gave us against Mallorca. He worked like an animal. He won the ball back for us and ended up exhausted. I told him that it was the game of his I was most proud of.

Taking a break...

Burnout is probably one thing that I must seek to avoid in order to be consistent in doing what is right. Today, I decided to leave early from work and get back home to have an hour of break before going to teach tuition.

It felt great to just be back at home, and rest. Something that I needed badly. Life is tiring but it is also fun. I want to be able to enjoy even while things might not be going all good, even when things could be messy.

I mentioned in my previous post that tomorrow is another day, and that is why we need to take a break. I'm totally refreshed coming back home, and just relaxing before going to the Homes to teach. In being part of this bigger stories, I knew I must learn to take time off, and I'm glad I head home earlier today.

Life is tiring but it is also fun

Life is tiring especially when you have to work and do other things at the same time...imagine waking up at 5.40 and reaching home at 11.30...

But we only have one life to live...I know life can be tiring but it can also be fun, depending on how you look at it...

Tomorrow will be another day and I don't want to miss something special everyday...I want to live life to the fullest. Today at Harvest Centre, I realized a girl there did not go to school for a whole year because she took care of the mother but the mom passed away already and now she is slower than other people by one academic year. I was speechless when I heard that.

Life is complicated but when I looked into the eyes of the girl, I knew for certain she believes in hope and she has faith to live on...I want to be part of this story and the many others left in pain and struggles...

Life is tiring but it is also fun, all the more when I see those genuine smile...that is my motivation...tomorrow is another day!!

It's fun to have all the time for yourself

This weekend, besides going to work on Saturday until 4.45pm, I have all the time for myself. Well, initially it felt rather bored not having people to call me out. Most of the weekends I spent hanging out, either with friends or family. While those moments are amazing, I realize that I enjoy being alone and doing things on my own. (not that bad after all....)

I had the Sunday all to myself. I watched a movie, workout for about an hour, clean the house and make my own dinner. The joy of cooking for myself is amazing. I even have time to read books that I want to. (although I doze off halfway...either the book is not interesting or I'm damn tired).
Well, for those of you who do not have my Facebook, here is what I make for my dinner...

Well, it's quite nice for a first timer although it's a little too oily...but the rice was perfect...haha!! I know that cause I learned before...professional!! :-)

Then, I made myself Chinese tea...

I took some time reading while enjoying the tea, and then I doze off for like 5 minutes before a notification on Facebook wakes me up.

Of course, it is different from drinking Hoegaarden with a group of friends, laughed and chilled.

This time, it is just me, with some light reading and Chinese tea....the feeling, AMAZING!!

Of course, I believe one must juggle their lifestyle...like what Warren Buffet said that he wished everyday to do "something foolish, something creative and something generous." I guess if one wants to do that, one must not limit the lifestyle to clubbing, drinking, or movies, or karaoke or whatever that one is into. For everything has its' values and let us learn to capture those moments.

Memories spent with family...

One of the best part being in a family is to have the memories that are good, bad and ugly all at the same time.

I believe every family has their own flaws but regardless of what it is, our family is the greatest gift that God can give to us, and I'm thankful for this gift and I hope I am as much a blessing as they are to me.

I think the Chinese New Year is one of the best occassion for us to remind ourselves to give more time to our family. It is funny to hear some young graduates who said it is impossible to care for both family and career...one thing for sure, family comes first regardless of what it is in relation to one's career.

Being at 24, it teaches me a lot of thing. Time doesn't wait for us. Whatever passed will not return and that is something we must learn to cherish. We only have one life to live and let us not regret about it at the end of the day.

This video is a dedication to my family, because if not for them, I won't be who I am today...

Pizza party and football match

It wasn't always that we have such crazy moments but it is great to have amazing moments where we just sit down, get some delivery boy to get us pizza while we bought ourselves Pepsi and 100+...we call it pizza party!!

the end of 2011, a new start in 2012

It felt just like yesterday when I last make the new year resolution 2011, but with just a few more hours to go, 2012 will start. It's funny how human beings create calendar to help us contain time. In a way, this is the only way that the scientific brain could do to categorize time...into seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years.

Next year, tomorrow will be a new day. Sometimes i wonder how different one year could be from the other but as I looked back my life, I realized that the changes are big indeed.

Last year, while celebrating New Year, I have the luxury of not working as I was still a university student back then. Tomorrow is Sunday and I'll get ready to be back to KL for work on Tuesday....that has indeed been a big difference.

Recalling 2011 and the years before brings great memories....I'm happy for the many people that I have met along the way, people that transformed my life in little ways....there is so much that I could said but the simplest way to sum it all is this: Thank you for being in my life. Your presence has make all the difference....Happy New Year!!

Manchester United hits 5 on Boxing Day..

On Boxing day, Manchester United delivers a strong warning to neighbour City by blasting 5 goals against Wigan and Rooney was not even on the pitch until
around the 60 minutes plus...

Amazing display by Valencia and Berbatov, not forgetting Park Ji Sung who sets the rhythm going by scoring the first goal. In a way, Wigan was forced to play with 10 men as the referee punished the team with a harsh red card.

I definitely am in a good mood given the performance by the Red Devils and I'm on leave...pretty cool feeling...

The hatrick by Berbatov despite of a rather soft penalty kick...and a sharp and strong long range by Valencia...after the first goal by Ji-Sung when Evra passed the ball inside into the unmarked Korean...

5 goals against Fulham and another 5 goals against Wigan...

And the rest of the teams only managed to get a draw...an amazing feeling on Boxing day!!

Breakfast in Wah Nam

The other day I had breakfast with Yen Leng in Wah Nam. This is what I really like about Ipoh...you can think of a lot of places to go for breakfast here.

Anyway, since YenLeng likes the breakfast here, I decided this would be my first stop for my Ipoh refuge.

Toast Bread with Half Boiled Egg

Now I must admit the toast bread with half boiled egg in Wah Nam is not good as in the past. YenLeng used to really like this but I'm sure she also agree with me that it was not as good as in the past.

Well, these two are not the bad but I'm sure there will be better ones in Ipoh.

Christmas

I always wonder what makes Christmas so special...for Christians, it is the birth of Jesus...
For non-Christians, I believe it is the holiday season and Santa Claus...
Anyway I usually would spent Christmas with my family but since my family went to Singapore, I am doing something rather different....

For Christmas eve, I spent the night with Yen Leng and some of my friends from school, Kumara, Chee Hoe, Victor and William...while there was nothing special and the feeling for Christmas is quite different this year, it's great to know that we are all doing good...not forgetting Kumara's iPhone 4S.

As for Christmas, I went to church for the worship session in the morning...met Jian Yao for a short breakfast session. Then I teman my grandmother for lunch...it was a good time to just be talking about anything that comes across my mind with her and to know she is doing good is a great relief.

After that met up with my close buddies, Addie, Alicia and Samuel Choo...it's been a long time but it feels as good as it was back then. It is great to be talking crap as usual. Haha!!

Then night time Christmas dinner with YenLeng in Jusco and tried looking for a watch for her but cannot find a suitable one.
The night ends with a yum cha session with William, Jo Ee, Kumara, Dhilip and Sai Mun...

Will you buy the new iPhone 4S?

Things become pretty interesting when a company like Apple launch a new product...

Quite a number of people in the office ask me about the difference between Galaxy S2, iPhone 4 and 4S...well, it's time for bonus for most of them and so naturally the question that pop up: is it time to buy smartphone?? Some are more specific...should I buy the new iPhone 4S??

Well, having play with my own iPhone 4, Yen Leng's iPhone 4S...and been to a few Samsung's stores to play with the Galaxy family, I personally think that the device that worth the money is still S2 and for those of you who are looking for a simplified user experience, you may wanna pay a little more for the 4S...

But while 4S has the additional Siri, iPhone 4 is probably good enough for those who want a cheaper one...

The only difference is the additional Siri in 4S and speed...but if you are no serious gamer, you might not even see the difference between iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S...

Well, that's my verdict...the question is: will you buy the iPhone 4S??

A nightmare: me without my teeth...

For some reason, I have a rather weird dream, a nightmare I will call it.
While I was sleeping soundly under the influence of the medication, I had this weird dream where my teeth came off for no reason.

It was unimaginable and I looked horrible. I went to the dentist and asked about the solution....then I just woke up!! and my first thought was: did I just lost my teeth? Haha!! Thank God it was just a dream because I definitely don't look good without the teeth...haha!!

If you are a kid and you lost one or two, people call it CUTE...

It looked horrible...anyway not gonna watch the Chelsea game tonight...wanna catch up on my sleep...hopefully, this time no bad or weird dreams...

Cough medicine tastes sucky

So it was pretty lame to be coughing all the time and one of my close friends told me this: "Kian Hin, you really got to start taking care of yourself and stop making people around you who cares for you worry."

Well, the truth is I'm not too sure how many out there really care about me except my family of course.

Didn't know the right words to put it but I guess I trust people to an extend that it doesn't hurt me....and it is probably the best that I could describe how I feel after the "Timothy breakdown". Guess this is the term that I could think of...

Anyway, here am I, taking up the coughing medicine that taste like shit....alright, this shitty stuff is what gonna bring me back to normal in the fastest way so I'm taking it.

Alright, here we go...gulp!! and it's in...not that bad after all...cheers!! Haha!!

Hmmm...I left out something...dinner....alright, no maggi or anything...so bread or biscuits will do for now. and I have instant soup...haha!! instant mushroom soup, not so sure if it's good for people who are cough but then I'm taking the medicine already...so it's an improvement.

Anyway, while I was thinking about whether I should take the medicine, I decided to look for some funny quotes about medication and doctor...
Doctors are men who prescribe medicines of which they know little, to cure diseases of which they know less, in human beings of whom they know nothing.

Alright, no offense to the doctors but it is really a funny one....and quite true as well..oops!! Thought of writing some crazy jokes here but the head is feeling pain. TOtally hate the combination of headache + cough...one keeps you awake in pain while you try to sleep to recover from headache....damn! Adios!!

Maxis app: Buy 1 Get 1 FREE!!

Yesterday when I bought the tickets for the movie: Arthur Christmas, I went to look for the Maxis app on the Apple store on my iPad. I remembered in my conversation with Ben, he told me all you need is a maxis number and a PayPal account.

Well, I no longer have the maxis number but my brother is still using his Hotlink number so it wasn't really an issue.

Well, it is awesome because technology definitely help us to save money to a certain extend. And it is user friendly.

When I open the app, I saw a few options on the bottom as shown on the image above...with the Buy 1 Get 1 FREE option in the middle right at the bottom...pressing it will lead me to the page where I could easily choose from the cinema and the movies that I want to watch.

Well, the process takes less than 30 minutes and I get to buy 1 FREE 1....pretty worth it when I bought 2 for 4 tickets. Of course, there is the RM1 online booking charges and a 50cents charges for the sms sent to the mobile but it is definitely worth the money.

I believe technology helps to save and this is one example of it.

Watched Arthur Christmas

Well, just came back from a movie...Arthur Christmas...and it is good...
Something new on how Santa actually works...

Well, I'm not gonna be a spoiler by talking about the movie but what this movie really speak about inspires me....

That Arthur totally disagree when others said: "Only a child miss it!!"
This movie talks about passion, about love and about effort....giving the best that one could do...

A definite thumbs up for those who have yet to watch and I'll definitely say this movie is in line with the spirit of Christmas...

Breakfast with family + Yen See & Ben

This morning, I went for breakfast with family & Yen See + Ben in Nam Heong. I totally love the environment there...it brings back the Ipoh feel...the coffee and the food and ya...basically, it's just good not to be in KL! Haha!!

I took these photos while the guy is preparing the tart....haha!! Actually it was my sister (Chiew Lian) who wanted me to take the photo. Looks delicious but didn't buy it as I was pretty full...will go again and maybe this time, I'll get Yen Leng along.

Well, since Yen See and Ben are also around, we went for breakfast together and as usual, the "natural disaster" has a lot to say. We gossip so much...(gonna do that more often...loL!)

Anyway aside from the breakfast, here is the latest update to the Transformers collection: Optimus Prime

Well, it is the BIGGEST Optimus Prime toy but I still prefer Bumblebee....

Play pool game

It has been a rather tiring week. Decided to play a pool game with Tom, Choon Foong and Aaron. Well, I have the free time since the tuition is cancelled as the centre needs to prepare for their Christmas celebration this weekend.

While waiting for my turn, I took some snapshot....Aaron and I partner this time around...

The three musketeers....haha!! Tom looks like he is suffocating...must be because of losing to Aaron and I...haha!!

Choon Foong showing off how one should start playing pool....we played for about 2 hours and it costs us RM23....each of us about RM6...not bad...it is much cheaper than playing other sports...haha!!

Well, maybe next time we should consider badminton...haha!!

Anyway time to sleep....need to wake up early and go back Ipoh after work tomorrow...another weekend at home sweet home!!!

What is your greatest fear?

Now, most people don't really take time to reflect on this but the truth is: when you realize what is your greatest fear, then you will know what you really want in life.

Some people look at friendship as treasures that they cannot lose...some look at reputation as an important part in life. Of course, some of us have a lot of things that we are afraid of losing...

As for me, my greatest fear is the inability to provide the best for the ones close to me. People that I care about and the people that I love.

Car maintenance

Well, it is getting pretty tiring maintaining the car...it is my responsibility to do so of course but having to take it to the mechanic shop so often makes it felt like a heavy task...

Anyway there is a lot to learn about cars...spent another 200 bucks on the Proton....

some new activities...volunteer as free tutor?

Well, I have been looking for some time now and it is about time to get back into tuition but this time around, I'll be giving free tuition in Harvest Centre, located nearby Jalan Sentul. They need more volunteers who are willing to teach...so if you are one of them, please let me know.

Anyway, I went there to look at the place and met the person who are in charge of the dorms and the kids, Yani. Someone from Indonesia and she has been here for about 13 years...that was something that only few could do...imagine giving your life to take care of children that are not related to you in blood. I also met two of the children there, Punitha and Dorcas. Both of them are in Form 3. One of them is into Science and another is into cooking...and both of them are athletes...long distance and short distance runner.

Somehow, looking at these kids...it just remind me of the energy and imagination that some of us used to have. "Those were the days"...but I think I wanna carry with me this energy as I move on in this journey and hopefully, while I teach them, they will share that with me.

After going to Harvest Centre, I went to Starbucks with May Kee. She belanja me drink and bought this for me.

Well, one thing that I must said is that while I only have a few juniors who are close to me, I think I've got the best...:-)

Thoughts

I am thinking a lot recently about a lot of things. I read stories about people who make a difference in the lives of others, taking the burden to reach out to the broken hearted.
I look into my own life and I wonder if I actually did anything meaningful. A friend who used to call me bro wouldn't want to have anything to do with me at all...if my friend couldn't even feel what I've done for him and her, just how much more lacking is it towards the poor and the less fortunate...
I chill out too often, and maybe I was way too selfish..
Questions come one after another...I would have taken the alcohol if not for the shops being close so early in Port Dickson...and instead I drink coffee and the alertness makes the reality even more painful.
It is difficult to grasp this because I remember when I was once lost and stupid, someone teaches me to be strong...but the mentor no longer stays on...time continues to move as we stay stagnant in our struggles...
Is time waiting for us? I don't think so...I'm no longer the young kianhin...at 23, I felt I should have done much more now, but the much more is always delay..

I've tried and failed but at least I try to walk the path to see the final destination...

Hopefully it is something that I could say with conviction this time...

I have a 2012 planner for some of the events that Great Eastern will be organizing and I thought of converting this file (Excel planner) into the outlook or Google calendar.

I tried it using the Outlook where you can import a file to be a calendar. However, it does not work and then I realize that the format is totally different. The Excel file that I have is in the form of a planner but it does not capture as thhe dates when I import it to the calendar.

Trying it for 30 minutes and I have given up...back to manual key in for the appointment...geez....can't it be easier? Damn...if you do have any idea, drop me a comment on how to do so...thanks lots in advance...

Was feeling quite sick lately. Been coughing a lot and thus, losing my voice already. Anyway, as it was the weekend, I take the opportunity to be back home and rest.

I borrow the FIFA 2012 and PES 2012 from Clement and this was what I got when I played the Amateur level. Haha!! It's been a long time since I play the game and it's feeling good.

How I spent my day in Ipoh??

Well, being back Ipoh is always good because mom will prepare food and ya, I don't have to think much. I got more time to sleep and more entertainment on the go.

Anyway, I went back yesterday on my birthday. My mom and eldest sister went to the church cellgroup. So, I my dad, brother and sister brought me to McD for supper.

Now, this is the thing...my favourite food is actually the simple Chicken McDeluxe...not any fish or expensive stuff....simply Fast Food...

On Saturday, I had Bak Kut Teh for lunch...yummy!! Home cooked!! loL!! I just got the feeling that food is easily available at home. Then, we went to the Wedding Castle to take photos with me in the graduation robe. I don't really like the idea but I guess it's the culture and tradition that passed down since my brother graduated from UM. (In my opinion, photos are the best tool to stop time, to capture memory but it must be genuine. Of course, I guess a lot of people like to take it in the Studio because it looks nicer. )

Anyway, after that, we went for dinner in Yeolde English.
Well, I had Blackpepper Chicken...lalala!! It was pretty nice and Yen Leng really like the Fish and Chip there.

Later on, we head to the only hangout place in Ipoh, Jusco. We went for a walk and then I got a new book, a gift from Yen Leng as my birthday gift.

After that, we went to Coffee Bean.

Just to chill around. I wrapped up my blogging there. Will be hanging out with Addie, Jian Yao and Vemal later with YenLeng as well.

How I spent my Deepavali holiday?

Well, it was a holiday yesterday and I made something for myself for my brunch...

I made half-boiled egg and followed the instruction from one of the website I found using Google. The website mentioned that I need to simmered the egg for about 3 minutes, which I did. Anyway, the result of it was somewhere near a disaster.

Now if you actually notice, it looks more like an egg soup than half-boiled egg. Damn that website, which makes me think why Google don't create a dislike button, so as to allow people to notice their friends' distrust over certain websites which promote wrong information. Maybe that will be more interesting than having a + button. (maybe a ' - ' button will do)

Just as I was eating, I started to think, "Why half-boiled egg?" I mean we don't really boil the eggs after all. We just simmered the egg onto boiled water. How about simmered egg? Well, went to search using Google on the origin of the word and it probably has to do with the transition of the concept of boiling.

After that, I tried to get myself to study and I'm in chapter 20 now...need to finish 30 chapters by Saturday. Geez....how am I gonna do that?!!

time to hit the PANIC button!!

Anyway that night, went out with Soon Aik, Tom, Clement and Amanda for a movie and makan session. First time meeting up with Ah Sou...and well, she's friendly.

Studying during the weekend

It has been a rather good weekend...had a good time checking out my devices after update to iOS 5, spend quite a good time for studying, went for a movie with Yen Leng, William, Sai Mun, Teikz and Sharon.

We watched the 3 Musketeers and it is really quite good.

Then, I have been studying for quite some time for my MLC exam...now only in chapter 15 and have another 35 more to go.

iOS 5 has its flaws

If you are new to Apple products, the iPhone 4 or 4S or the iPad 2, then you probably read this. While I enjoyed using the Apple products as much as most of the Apple big fans, I am a rational person that gets frustrated with the flaws that come with the new OS.

Now first of all, the new features of the iOS 5 is good and encouraging but lacking practicality in it can be rather frustrating.

If you have been anticipating for the new Reminder feature on the iPhone and the iPad 2 that allows reminder based on "location", you will be very much disappointed as myself. The location needs to first be saved into your contact location, which I find it to be rather frustrating. Other applications available on the App store could allow one to search for location using Google Map, which is much more convenient.

Then, the iCloud which is a good thing has flaws as much as the cool stuff that comes with it. The Photo Stream feature is cool but imagine having to sync it only via WiFi...I find it to be rather ridiculous. Why can't one just sync it via iTunes then? It wouldn't make much a difference. It probably should consider allowing upload via data plan as well. (another limitation just as when FaceTime roll out...but FaceTime was logical because most people would only video call via WiFi and not while on the go.)

Then, PhotoStream has its' dangers. If you are not careful and used the iPhone 4 to capture "compromised" or "embarrassing" photos, it is probably best that you disable the PhotoStream feature but you will not be allow to delete the photos on your device.

Of course, you can log into iCloud.com on your PC (and I suggest using Chrome because both Firefox and IE9 comes out with error when resetting the photos). Then, login and click on your name at the top right corner. Click advance and you can reset the photos, but you will have to delete all of the photos from the iCloud...not any particular.

After updating iPad 2 into the new iOS 5, I thought Apple will allow the users to delete photos sync from the iTune but it actually still cannot. Of course, you will be able to delete all the photos taken using the iPad 2 but any photos synced into the device using the iTunes cannot be deleted unless one managed it using the PC. (This defeats the whole purpose of Apple saying that one no longer needs the PC. While it works in certain ways such as the setup, it fails in a lot of ways.)

Having say that, I believe Apple is on the right path, just as many of its competitors...at the end of the day, the device is a beautiful and useful tool that helps one get through the day more effectively. However, you really should get to know your device now that iCloud is there, to avoid any embarrassing moment. I guess that's all for now.

Team building on Sunday while convocation on Saturday (can't believe my weekends are taken by activities that are not of my priority)
The rich is still getting richer while the poor is poorer...the same old story.

Looking back at these times, I realized that there are so many that we could do and yet chose not to....

Were you to slow down and reflect on your life, you will see how much is missing...

I write this blog, with the deepest regret of the things that I have neglected...

I believe it is time to ponder on one of the quote by the late Steve Jobs, who have been remarkable and proactive in his days: “Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Suriya, an actor with a difference

I don't really watch Bollywood except on occasional when my sister would turn the TV on. The other day, I came across this Bollywood actor, Suriya who is more than just an actor. While popularity is an important part for an actor, Suriya is not only a popular actor in South India. Surya has been amazing not only as an actor but he has a heart that reaches out to the underprivileged. He had set up the Agaram Foundation that helps the poor and less fortunate to gain the opportunity to knowledge and education. With his wife, Jyothika, they have made a great difference in the lives of the poorer people. Indeed, this story helps to inspire me to make a difference. I am going to volunteer myself to offer free tuition for the poor. This to me, is probably just the first step in making a difference. I believe that there are more that we can do and we are far from doing good enough. I hope many more will join to contribute to the less fortunate.

Sometimes one needs a break, especially one feels tired....this is where vacation comes in. I don't have the luxury to go for vacation at the moment but I do need break from the heavy workload.

I am not the kind of person who is into shopping but it does feel good to just chill around back in Ipoh.

I have not had the time and luxury to play much with Facebook lately but decided to update some stuff onto my Profile.

Anyway, it was the AboutMe that I wanted to share here as well.

Well, I must admit that working expose you to a lot of smart people, people who have much more knowledge than you are. Depending on how you look at it, you will have different respond to it. I am the youngest in my Department and Division at the moment and it was good because I have the opportunity to learn.

It was just like being a kid again, to learn from scratch on a lot of things. And it was also through these times that I ponder on 3 important elements in life:

DANCE, PHOTOS and MUSIC!!

Maybe it is art that truly reflects humanity after all.

Dancing through life...that whatever happens in life, the ups and downs are like the movement in a Dance, and that one must be able to Dance through the different beats, using all skills, timing, practice and feeling.

Photos are the closest thing in life to stop time. Because time doesn't stop in the actual world, Photos hold onto that moment and makes it stop. This is where memories of friendships and relationships come in.

There are different Musics in life, whether we see it or not. The cries of the poor, the laughter of the rich, the sound of war and many others are the Musics in life and they all come in together...and I believe one must ask: "What MUSIC am I contributing?"

Back to Ipoh and some reflection

Was feeling rather tired after coming back to Ipoh this week. It was probably due to a busy week.

In the company, there are more reports and data extraction that needs to be done. I'm no longer considered new...it's been 2 months plus. Time really flies and I have already experienced how the company handle the Mooncake Contest in the company.

Besides, there is an upcoming event, the Great Leo Award in Genting, which means I'll be going to Genting on the 20th and 21st.

Then, the company Annual dinner is on the 1st October and I am involved for the company opening dance performance and also joined the department in the talent contest. So, there will be practices after work...hopefully, I have the stamina for these.

Anyway now that I'm back to Ipoh, it feels good to have some time to do reflection on what has been throughout these times. I realize that it is difficult to manage time and I mean really difficult. At times, one feel so tired to even read anything. I fall asleep while trying to study on one of the days.

I know there are more that needs to be done but time management and priority is definitely a must. I am trying to manage To Do list and also focus on a balance lifestyle.

While waiting for the tea session later while celebrating the Mooncake Festival with my family, I believe it is good to treasure important values of family, friendship and also many other important things that we so often neglected. I need to learn and hopefully, my life could add values to those around me as well.

One is not enough but it must start with one

I just finished watching the movie, Street Fighter, the legend of Chun-Li....I know it's an old movie but somehow after watching it, it makes me wonder what can one really do....while eventually in the movie, Chun-Li managed to kill Bison, the villain of the movie, there will be more that come after him...there will be those who will be even worse than him...so what can one really do??

It was also at the same time that I saw the letter sent by WorldVision regarding the Sponsor a Child program that I signed up.

It makes me wonder what can the RM50 really do in a month? I finished up that amount by going for 2 movies during this holiday break that I have. It makes me wonder how many RM50 is actually needed for these people that do not have the benefits as we do. But one person could really just do that much...how many more 50s can one give...2,3,4 or 5 or even more but is that enough to help those that are in need.

It reminded me of a statement that my friend used to say, the world does not need a hero...the world needs a community.

I had a good break from work, to just spend time with family and YenLeng.

It was a good time that I have but it is time to get back to reality. A friend of mine told me the world is too corrupt for any good in it. True as it may, I believe the good must start in us. Even as I said this, I failed in a lot of ways to make a difference but it must start now.

The little difference we can make daily is what gonna change the world.

Sister going to Singapore to work

Well, just as I have started a new journey in Kuala Lumpur at Great Eastern, my sister is going to start a new journey in Singapore. She will be working in Mazars. Well, basically, my siblings and I are all working in different states, with my brother (Jason) in Kulim, my eldest sister (Chiew Yee) in Ipoh, myself in Kuala Lumpur, and my sister (Chiew Lian) in Singapore. [arrangement of the sequence based on geographical location, from North to South]

I guess there will be less meeting up and hang out but I believe this is something that we must learn to anticipate as we grow older...

Question of Faith is the Beginning of Faith

Have you ever teach a child about anything before? If you have teach a kid at the she of 4 to 7 or 8 years old, these kids will probably ask you questions when they don't understand anything...compare this to a teenager. The teenagers will probably not ask too many questions. And compare it to an adult....and you'll know...most of the time, the adults already have a prefixed answer to the questions that they wanna ask and if they're asking, it is probably just to show how good they are....

Well, the above statement is simply a generalization of people's characters based on my own bias perspective.

I remembered a friend of my friend who told me strongly about the beliefs that he has....his faith and nothing can ever shaken it. And while I do embrace that part of faith, I believe my mentor once taught me for one to make a giant leap of faith, one must question the faith....in the seek for truth, one must ask.

The question of faith is the beginning of faith...and maybe that is what is meant when the Bible told us to have faith like the little children. Have you ever sit down and ask, "What is faith? What is meant by salvation when surrounding us is hopelessness?

It was only lately that I start to realize that there are so much lacking for those around us...that at time I think of our own problems which really ain't a problem compare to those who are struggling to find a proper meal on their table.

Why are we so blinded by our so called dreams and ambitions?? If the Christians are right, then we are only here temporary before going Home (Heaven) and yet we are so caught up with our own goals here on Earth.
As much as I am condemning those around me in my post, I'm even more judgmental and critical at my own decisions and choices...I too am guilty of these injustices that I caused my brothers and sisters without even realizing it.

I indulge in wine, beer, high-end technologies and yet I complain about injustice...maybe we have not come to understand the full meaning of it...I too am guilty...

It might be too much to give up everything but if one is willing to give a little daily with the right conscious and knowledge of those whose sufferings are beyond our understanding, perhaps then only will the world change for the better.

The world does not need a hero...the world needs a community of heroes...and maybe it is important to ask the right question, "what can we give to our community? What can we give to those who do not have the privileges like ours? "

And with that in mind, I will go through my day...

one month working experience

Here is the thing...if you know me, you will know I am not the person who enjoy university life, unlike most people. It is not education that makes me uncomfortable in university. I am also not the type of people who struggle to blend in the crowd. But I felt that the university time restricted me in certain ways. Anyway, now that I'm no longer studying in UM (finished studies finally for now...) and I'm currently doing a few things.

I created a blog to sell bodybuilding supplements and I learned a lot about some of the HTML code while editing the template for the blog. So, if you are interested to build body and consider buying supplements, do visit my blog...I call it: BodyBuilder OnlineStore (OS).

Besides the business that I'm doing with my friend, I am also working in Great Eastern (bonded 3 years with the company). While I don't get to work in the department that I asked for (Actuarial), I do enjoy my work in Great Eastern under Events and Promotions. First of all, I must said that there is a lot for myself to learn about insurance. I realized that there are so much that I have yet to truly understand the insurance sector. The people in the company are fun and also helpful. I'm glad to have known the seniors and the juniors. I went for my first training yesterday and today, the Product Knowledge course. I met a few friends during the training and am glad to know these people. It was also a good exposure to some of the products in the company, to learn about the jargons and the terms.

It would be foolish to say that it is not tiring working but I guess it is something that I have expected of. I believe it is still a long process of learning and I want to learn to enjoy it while compete in the working world. I guess that's all for now.

Reward from my first month salary

Well, I know I'm not the type who would save my first month salary. Anyway after allocating money for family and parents, I have two rewards for myself...
One of it is to get myself a good meal on the day I got my salary...tada!!

I had this in a mamak and belanja Tom and Aaron eat something simple...total cost me bout RM50 la...but this meal quite nice!!

Then I saw the Transformers toys in MPH and decided to buy the Bumble Bee for myself today...it cost me bout RM160+ but still I'm happy because I like it...haha!!

Well, I don't think I'll take it out...wanna keep it as collection...

I guess I am about to reach my station...will be having dinner with Ms Ng and some uni friends tonight...lalala!! Will blog more about the dinner later..

While waiting in KL Sentral

It is Friday and this week, I'll be heading back to Ipoh (Home Sweet Home!!) but I only managed to get the 9.30pm ETS train back to Ipoh. Anyway, I realized that a lot of people are taking the ETS train now as I have to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes to get the tickets.

Anyway, despite having to wait, I'm quite happy that i got a cheaper price at RM22 because I still have my UM student card. Need to maximize the usage of the student card before I can't use it. (hahaha!!)

Well, I had my dinner in KFC.
Ate the Rice Combo...at only RM6.90....not a lot but enough for me.

yummy!! haha!! probably I was hungry so I find it extremely nice at that time..

Since I only managed to get the 9.30 train ticket back to Ipoh, I explored KL Sentral and played with the Blackberry Playbook.

The way it navigates was pretty smooth but I find one serious issue with the Playbook...lack of apps!! I hate to say this but it is really almost just for work and then at 7 inch, it might be portable but it seem quite heavy as well. Anyway, I'll check out more on the Playbook soon.

I know that there are going to be a lot of people out there who preach about the importance of happiness and peace in comparison to money. No doubt money is not everything but money matters...and it becomes ever more clear in the working world.
While writing this on the lrt back, I know that I must go beyond my boundary to reach there...not an easy road but I'll take the leap of faith if I may use that term...

And just one more random stuff, I see so many girls in mini skirts going for the Chelsea game tonight...it makes me wonder...is there a party after the football game?? Haha!! Anyway I guess that's it for now...

A new phase of life

It has been some time since I blog and I have to admit...I was busy with a lot of things...work, assignment, supplement business and also other preparation in Kuala Lumpur.
Anyway I just wanna share some of the things that have been happening to me. It is not too difficult at work at the moment...colleagues are friendly and I learned my tasks quite easily. Guess I'm waiting for more to come...anyway, here is where the place I sit in the office in Menara Great Eastern.

Anyway, I have to wake up at about 6.30am daily for work but I think I can cope with it. To be honest, I couldn't be more motivated than this.

At the moment, I'm staying in University Tower with friends. Will need to find a permanent place, somewhere near LRT station hopefully. Once I have settled down, it will be easier to manage the budget. I realized that it's not really a bad idea to take LRT...after all, it is easy to get into reading on the LRT as well.

I went to The Gardens the other day and I bumped into Nicol David.

Well, this week will be heading back to Ipoh and I'll probably spend more time on the latest update.

Btw, I heard that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is coming out at the end of this month. I think it is time to buy a tablet for usage on the go but for now, it is best to save for a while before spending....guess that's all for this short update...

Focusing on a healthier lifestyle...

We all know the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle but most of us fail to do so. Probably it was because of our young age that we thought we could go mamak every night, and we thought it will be okay to sleep later for a few hours each night but the truth is that, all of that might just add up to serious illness when you grow older.
I've been one of those that are guilty of this.

Last two weeks, I made an effort to eat Salad after my meal on Friday and also to make an Apple Juice for myself every Saturday.
I think it requires a lot of discipline to maintain a healthy eating habit. Although I find it difficult to reduce the intake of coffee, I'm trying to do so by drinking more water. I believe it is a long process but it could also be an enjoyable one as well.

This is a bit luxurious with a lot of different fruits...when I'm working, I'll probably opt for apple, orange and maybe another fruit and that's it but I'm sure it'll still be great.

Grandma's bday

Yesterday my family went to the Delight Restaurant for dinner as it was a celebration for my grandmother's birthday.
It was the usual Chinese restaurants (not my type) and it started at about 7pm.
It was really a good time to just sit together and have dinner. We have two tables since one table is not big enough to fit us.

This is the menu although I don't know how to read at all...haha!!

The first meal...it tastes normal la...but I don't eat all of them...

Well, I was playing with the Instagram on my iPhone....didn't really do any effect on most of the dishes as it would be difficult to recognized what type of food after the effects...haha!!

Well, these are not one of my favourite meals but am glad to just be able to eat together with my family and see my grandmother in a healthy state. That night, my aunty from UK skype with my grandmother and some of my other family members. It is good to just say hi again although I won't say I miss any of my relatives that I hardly talk to too much but again, family is still family.
Guess it's just a good reminder for me to learn to appreciate little things from those close to me...family and friends alike...

Today is Father's day and just decided to post something about it.
I guess one thing that we must learn to accept is that everyone is a human, and human are with flaws...and that includes fathers. I believe this is the day that we should learn to accept our father for their weaknesses and their strength.

Sometimes, growing up makes it harder to relate to parents. You tend to think of yourself as more capable but Father's day is a good reminder that this is the man that has given so much so that we can be who are today. And I just want to take this time to wish my father and the many fathers out there, Happy Father's Day!!

I read this on the internet and hopefully, we will take the opportunity we have, to love those around us.

Anyway, my family and I went to Johnny's in Jusco to celebrate Father's day.

After makan, we went jalan-jalan before settling in Coffee Bean for our drink.

Dinner in Cafe Takahashi

Yesterday I went to Cafe Takahashi with YenLeng. Well, we ordered one set, an ice-cream and a drink. The set comes with 2 side dishes. Here are some of the snapshots that I took.

The main dish...cutlet fish plus egg...haha!! like this!!

Haegan daaz ice-cream...chocolate cream chip...something like that...forgot the actual name...haha!! it looks ugly though!!

It was quite pricey also....by using the membership card, we have a 15% discount.

After the discount, plus with the service charge and tax, we makan for about RM43.++. Well, I wouldn't say the food is way too nice but it is acceptable. Probably I'm not a fan of Japanese food but I'm sure there are those who would love to go here...

Starbucks

Yesterday I went to Starbucks and had coffee with my mom and sisters. Since my sis has the American express card, we can buy 1 free 1. So, it's really very cheap and I like the time spent there chit chatting.
Well, anyway, I saw something very funny. There was a glass window in Starbucks and a kid ran towards it and hit it. Pong!! It was very loud and the kid did not cry out loud although I could see tears rolling down. The mother did not really look at the kid and I decided to take a snapshot of the kid while he was trying to calm himself. Poor lil boy!!

Anyway, I like the Cafe Latte and Caramel Latte we ordered...
Well, I guess here's a toast to everyone on Earth who is ever so eager...no more than eager is desperate, desperate for even the smallest sign that there exists something finer, better, larger and more miraculous, more significant about our inner self than we could ever supposed. We all heard it...we all know it. Some of it were also celebrating when the news about the death of Osama bin Laden was announced. I was one of those who are glad that the man who planned for a brutal attack on the United States in September 11. Even until today, that day was still a shock to me...and I believe it was so for many others, all the more for those who are staying in the States.

But Al-Qaeda is far from finished.
Terrorism expert Peter Bergen reports on CNN International that the Egyptian Saif al-Adel has been appointed as a "caretaker" leader of al-Qaeda, following the death of its emir Osama bin Laden.

Al-Adel's technical expertise saw him become one of al-Qaeda's top military commanders and a key figure in bin Laden's inner sanctum, a position which was reinforced after the death of another prominent Egyptian militant, Mohammed Atef, in 2001. What he did in the decade following the 9/11 attacks is unclear - some reports suggest he was unhappy with the movement's impetuous handling of the terrorist attack, which precipitated an American backlash that effectively derailed a number of key al-Qaeda operations that al-Adel had been slowly nurturing over the years. According to the German magazine Der Spiegel, al-Adel and a number of other prominent al-Qaeda members fled the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and ended up kept in shadowy circumstances under house arrest in Iran. But it seems by October last year al-Adel was back in the al-Qaeda fold, possibly moving among other militants in Pakistan's troubled North Waziristan tribal agency.

A one day trip to KL

It was a rather tiring day as I had to fetch my sister to Kuala Lumpur as she had an interview. Anyway, I kinda enjoy driving and although it was tiring, I sort of enjoy the time that I had there.
We went to Amcorp Mall as the interview was held next to the mall. We went for McD lunch....actually, I was the only one eating. My sister was not in the mood to eat I guess. Anyway, we walked around and when we went to Popular, I found a book that I found pretty interesting but I'm not buying it yet. Will be finishing the 3 more books that I have with me now first.
Realizing that there was nothing much to see in the mall, I went to Starbucks to read my book while my sister went for her interview. I really do enjoy the silence and also the opportunity to continue reading the book.

Well, I thought of uploading the photos but I'm too tired at the moment so I'll leave it for another time.
While on the way back, it was raining heavily and it was the first time I'm driving under rain condition on the highway...I guess it's a good experience. And one more thing, before we went to KL in the morning, my sister and I realized that I have forgotten about servicing the car...luckily the car is still in tip top condition...will be taking it to service centre tomorrow...

The other day I was just googling and wondering how "Technorati" works and I decided to try it.
If you had no idea what is it, it is basically the search engine for blogs.

I am not very sure how Technorati works but I'll play with it soon. As for those of you who are interested to get your blog listed on Technorati (apparently this is where you find out who are the influential bloggers)

WHAT YOU GET FROM SIGN UP??

For those of you who are into blogging, it helps to attach the blog into your profile in the site and helps to promote your blog.

It is important to spend some time and effort on the tags and description of your blog because it helps to enable an easier search for your blog via Google Search and other search engines as well.

Now comes the hard part: WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO TO SIGN UP?

Honestly, I wish the steps could be simpler but I've been experimenting with it for a while so here are what you'll need to do to sign up if you are not sure or if you don't understand about the instructions.

Go to Technorati website (techonorati.com) and sign up. No worries...it is absolutely free.
After filling all your profile and add a nice photo of yourself, you will need to claim your blog.
You do so by entering the url of the blog you want to claim. It is in the box at the bottom of the page where you list down your profile. It is under the heading "My Claimed BLogs"...click "Claim"!!
After that you will be directed to a new page with the heading "Claim a new blog". Make sure that you spend some time on the details and think carefully. It helps to promote your blog easier in the future apparently. (I'm still experimenting with it so I'm not really sure how it works on the description and the tags.)
Then, fill in the RSS feed as well. Click on ‘Subscribe’ next to the RSS logo at the top right-hand corner of your blog and your RSS Feed URL was in the browser. This is an important step as one must have an RSS Feed for your blog in order for this process to work.
After that your blog will be for reviewed.
Then, check your email and you will find this: ‘Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. Technorati will need to verify that you are an author of the site [your site URL will be here] by looking for a unique code. We have just assigned the claim token [your number will be here] to this claim. Please visit http://technorati.com/account/ for more details, including how to use the claim token.” (As mentioned earlier, the long number on top is my claim token)
I decided to write this post with the token in it as well.
Once your post is updated and alive, go to visit http://technorati.com/account/ and click on the Check Claim button at the bottom of your account page.
You will then be asked if you have already made a temporary post and once you have do so, confirm by clicking the button at the bottom of the page.
You will then receive an email confirming that Technorati has successfully crawled your blog and found your Claim Token. Now all you have to do is wait for the review. Some people will delete the temporary post but I decided to leave it here as a guideline to those are interested in using Technorati but couldn't really figure out the instructions.

Penang Trip

Penang Trip...I guess I'm gonna blog about this since I've just been there for 3 days. Anyway, it wasn't really a vacation kind of trip...more like going there to see some friends and spend some time in a different environment.
Well, people said you need to look for the good food while you're in Penang and Ipoh (my hometown) but I'm not really the kind of people that are into food. (so not much about food from this post as well)

Alright, on Tuesday we started our journey at about 6am. We started early because my brother need to work on that day....Intel staff...what the heck! Haha!! Anyway, we had our breakfast in McD in Kulim...(Sorry peeps but I'm a McD fan so I don't mind eating it even in Penang) Then, we went to the St. George's church. It was an accidental visit...not in the plan at all...

During the night time, we actually went to Kulim to look for my brother...and we went for "fried porridge"...it's about 25km from Kulim...quite a distance and I actually fall asleep after an hour plus journey....zzz....haha!!

During the night time, we decided to take a walk and look at those clubbing places....haha!! We also went for a light supper in the Red Garden...didn't take photos though but there were some girls with little clothings dancing while a lot of the old men enjoying the views...haha!! Anyway those girls are not hot...

The next day we didn't go out for breakfast...just had a light one in the hotel and then my sis, mom and I walked to First Avenue to jalan-jalan a while....kinda nice but the iStudy store (selling Apple products) don't seem to have iPad 2 for me to play...geez...after that, we went to the famous cendol along the Penang road...


tada!! kinda nice...the lady even teach me how to eat...haha!!

Well, I also met up with Amay. She fetched me to the Gurney Plaza...we had our lunch in the Manila's Place and then went jalan a bit before heading to Dome's for minum...had a long chat also...

That night we went to Penang Times Square for dinner and that was the mistake...the place is really empty...I can't really believe my eyes but since it was raining, we decided to just go for the food court.

Well, after makan, we went and buy some stuff for makan...in the only place that's alive in Penang Times Square...and it's called Sunshine...really lame!!

After a terrible night, I went out with Choon Foong and May Kee for a yum cha session...initially we wanna go to Overtime but since it is overloaded with people and a lot of hot chicks as well, we decided to go to next door instead, Coffee Island...not bad also but without the hot chicks...anyway, the purpose of the night was to meet up with these people. It's pretty good to be seeing them again and knowing that they are doing well...very well in fact...haha!!

The food is just normal to me but then again, it could be because I am not really into food....

Learn from mistakes...

A clever man learns from his own mistakes...but a wise man learns from others' mistakes.

It is unavoidable that we all eventually make mistakes in life but the fewer, the better. One of the best way to do so is to learn from others' mistakes. This might seems easy but if you really want to learn from others' mistakes, you must really do it. Whenever you heard of the mistakes made by others, friends, colleagues or people around you, it is important to find out why the mistakes occur.

Of course, you must learn to do your detective work undetected by others. This is important or otherwise you might be seen as a smug, nosy or busybody kind of person. You wouldn't want that to be your reputation.

So, whenever a colleague got themselves into hot soup, you should try to offer a helping hand. Most of the time, they will be grateful to you and talk to you about the situation that led them into such trouble. Once you have found out what went wrong, it is important for you to think of ways to avoid repeating his or her mistakes. After all, it will look even worse to be repeating a mistake of your colleague.

With a thorough and desire to enquire about the mistakes made by others, you will learn to avoid making the same mistake. Thus, get rid of the "It won't happen to me" or "non of my business" attitude and try to learn from there.

Addicted to ANGRY BIRDS (RIO)

Well, lately I've been quite free and a lil addicted to Angry Birds (RIO). It was probably due to the desire to win all levels with 3 stars. Anyway, I am currently waiting for reply from Great Eastern so I have quite a lot of free time at the moment.

A relaxing Saturday

Well, it was a pretty good Saturday initially to be honest. I spent my day doing things that I want, reading, blogging, exercise and surfing for some information. And then, I went out with YenLeng at night for dinner.

We went to Secret Garden for dinner.

Now the place is quite nice. A comfortable feeling but the pricing is quite "pricy" I felt. And I don't really fancy the food either. Well, it was just a good time to talk and enjoy dinner....(but if you are looking for good food, I don't think this is a good place)

After that, we went to Tesco and I bought the "Angry Bird" soft toy for YenLeng....forgot to take photo of the AngryBird so will post it some other time.

Then, we (including sis and bro) went to Coffee Bean while waiting for the midnight movie....we went for Pirates 4.

Had the Ultimate for drink...

We spent some time talking, chatting and also playing AngryBird. Not that I'm a fan but I'm keen on breaking record. Anyway, before we went for the movie, we bought the KungfuPanda Tumbo.

And then of course after the movie, I rushed to send YenLeng back home before going for the Manchester United-Barcelona game. Very disappointed though as the Red Devils lost 3-1 but then, that's another story.

I guess that's all for the weekend...need to save money...

It is a Saturday and I'm supposed to be going out later...this is the plan: dinner with YenLeng and then movie together with my brother and sister as well...gonna be watching Pirates!! (Totally like Johnny Depp!!)

Anyway, just finished writing a few articles on social media marketing and it reminded me of a remark made by a friend regarding how annoying the ChurpChurp can be...I guess it is important to take note of such remark but then again, I have found out about YesLife and posted it using ChurpChurp before this...well, it is subjective...

Alright, back to the topic...I just continued on my reading of "THE RULES OF WORK" and find it very much relevant. While reading it can be funny and at times, I felt how hypocritical the world could be, I realized that this is life...how many of us can say we are not hypocrites in all honesty...
I definitely am going to finish reading this but the price of RM91.50 is a bit too expensive I felt...anyway, since my sister bought it, I'm just gonna get to read it for free...yay! haha!!

So, if anyone of you are wondering what kind of books to read for motivation for work, this one will be a good one....

Netbook slightly broken

Feeling damn sad when I saw that the printscreen key on my netbook is spoiled...

Although it is not like one of the best form of PC, I kinda like the usage of the netbook (despite the much slower speed and smaller screen) as I love to travel with it...it's light...

Anyway was feeling rather unhappy though I could still use it, the missing key makes me feel very uncomfortable...

After spending more time on reading a book, I would take this a little further...that being noticed and getting noticed is not only the way to make the way to the top. But it must not stop there...and this is what comes next: NEVER STAND STILL!
There are a lot of people who are satisfied with their works and felt that they have reached to a certain success...while that satisfaction is not entirely bad, it is also the very thing that cause one to stop growing.

Now, we all must do our work and we must do extremely well to earn recognition but we must look beyond that. We must look at the bigger picture and we must think of the next step. While most people would be thinking of indulging in Starbucks coffee, relaxing and chilling in the comfort of their home...most of which I am also guilty of, one must be planning ahead, to analyze and assess the competition exists and to research on their work.

It is either you keep moving or you grow moss. You have to have movement, energy and enthusiasm...if not, you will become stagnant. The longer you stand still, the more difficult for you to make the next move.

So, most of my peers are in their holiday now...the question is this: are we standing still?

The enigma of life [Part 1]

The curiosity about life and work has been deeper than ever now that I am approaching a new phase of life. I have been reading about a book "Rules of Work"...a book bought by my sister, Chiew Lian and felt that there are more for me to learn about life.

It was then that I thought of putting it into a log in my blog and this is the first entry, and I called it the enigma of life because life is like a riddle, awaiting for us to solve the mystery in it. It would be great to look back at these entries some day and know that some of these paradox of life is what shape us into making certain decisions.

Anyway, my first entry will be simply on life and how to make the most out of it. After reading some parts in the book, it makes me wonder why is it that some people always manage to say the right thing at the right time, do it at the right moment, perform their best when it is required of them and eventually emerge as an outstanding individual while some others go through daily life struggling to get noticed.

Probably the first part of it is simply this: GET NOTICED! (this is probably what most people are craving for and yet not able to express out) Look at Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and blogs...why is social network becomes more important than ever...people need the attention...people need to be noticed...people want love and care and appreciation. Now, we know that everyone wanted the same thing but how are you gonna get it. Well, I'm going to go back to where I started this...that some people somehow emerge as an outstanding individual. If you think that these people are born genius, you probably should read the book "Outliers" and realized that most successful people spent countless hours and dedicate their lives to achieve that greatness. So, the first key is to be passionate (and some people can turn it into obssession as well) about your work, whether you are simply doing a clerical work or you are studying, or you might even be a manager aiming for a bigger promotion, or maybe you are just like me, a fresh graduate waiting to impress his new boss. And just as your cravings are for attention, that is what you gonna do. Let's take for example, if your job scope requires you to complete a processing work in a short time, you probably will not be able to get the attention from your boss by doing it faster than your colleague. Trust me...even if you are finishing your work an hour faster, it is not going to impress your boss but if you are able to finish up your work quick enough and think of a way to help others to improve, you are on your way to get the attention. Write a report or even send an email and tell him or her about that method of improving the efficiency of your workload. Of course, if you are doing it too often, your boss might not like it but that is the idea.
I am not gonna say that gaining the attention from others would be easy but if you want to GET NOTICED by your boss, you probably need to work very hard...get to know your work from inside out but the key is not to let others know how hard you are working for it. Now, if you remember, you probably heard some of your friends (top students especially), who are doing very well in their exams and here are some similar traits:

They won't tell you how much they work for something...they probably have been spending hours on revising and getting to know their studies inside out but they are not going to reveal that!!
They will tell you they are uncertain about their works and yet they do extremely well..

Now, let's not take this in a negative way...you might think of it as "kiasu" but the simple truth is this: if you wanna do well, work hard for it and don't tell others how hard you work for it.

Look at Bill Gates, the man who was obssessed with computer programming and he is an "outlier" because he spent countless hours facing the computers and learning the computer language...he has the access to this....imagine what would become of Bill Gates if he don't have the access to computer when he was young...he probably will still be a successful man but there won't be Microsoft.
Look at Lionel Messi, the brilliant footballer so much so that people are calling him wizard. Can you imagine the wizard doing what he is doing if he is not exposed to football training at a young age and of course, spending hours training on it.

Skills, talents and charisma are important in life but it is not everything. It is how much you are willing to put your effort in your work. I guess it is not really a riddle that is unknown to us but most of the time, we just miss on one thing...we are not able to look at the opportunity around us and make use of it. But we blame on what we are lacking. So, I guess if you are struggling to make an impact from where you are, the first few things that you should do: stop facebooking, stop stalking on other people who are better than you and start doing what you can and learn from the first step if you have to. The road ahead is full of excitement but it is not an easy one.

I have seen it in the movies before but I have not really seen it with my own eyes. It is a ceremony where, the couple, would offer tea to their parents. Anyway I did some Google research and realize that the actual tea ceremony, however, involved only the groom’s family and was conducted after the exchange of vows. Anyway, the tea ceremony is symbolic in a sense that it is an act of introduction to between the families and as a symbol of respect toward the groom's relatives.

My cousin's wedding..

One of those who I consider as a close part of my family, my cousin, Mun Kar got married last weekend. Honestly, I was not sure if I wanted to go because I have my examination on Wednesday and Thursday and my cousin's wedding was held on two days, one in Ipoh and another in KL but I am glad that I chose to go. I believe that it was really the time that one celebrate the happiness of others, people that you are close with and being there is meaningful because I was part of the celebration.

The wedding made me think a bit about marriage. A wedding is the ceremony in which two people are united in marriage or a similar institution. There are different wedding traditions and customs that vary greatly from one another. The one that my cousin had was a Chinese and a bit of Buddhism element in it. While some of the customs might seem weird but it's kinda fun. Anyway, I was thinking about marriage and what leads two people making a commitment of loving one another, taking care of another...for the rest of their lives....with the divorce rate skyrocketing high, it seems quite impossible to talk about commitment in the Y-generation, but I guess during wedding ceremony, we all focus on the good and we are all pretty optimistic about a good marriage, a long lasting relationship...and I guess this is what gives the strength to a good marriage, a good relationship, by looking and enhancing the good side of it. (Not to say we ignore the negatives but by having faith and enhancing the positive, we are capable of expanding that circle of positive and optimistic feeling to our partner, just as how the wedding ceremony is capable of doing that to people around the two couple.)

Anyway, I wish them a happy ever after fairy tale and while the journey ahead might be a tough one, I wish they will be able to go through it together...

Good Friday

It is Good Friday today and there ain't any plans for any celebration or anything since I am in KL, I just wanna reflect on what I call "second birth". Honestly, I still remember the first time I ever stepped into the church...it was for Easter celebration and Jian Yao invited me. Back then, the only purpose I went was for the food and the chicks.

But it was during that time that I met LiangHin and also heard about "Jesus". While the image of "Jesus" may have look different during the different phases that I went through, the first time was always the most meaningful.

And I owe it a lot to Jian Yao and LiangHin...one who bring me to CGBC for the first time and the other who has become the mentor for so many years. The days of being a mentee has long passed but truly, it was at that time that I start to be who I am today....

The road ahead is still long, and I have yet to reach the half of it...and I have already exhausted but these feelings, these thoughts, these reflections, these memories will teach me how to face the future.

It is indeed Good Friday and while God may be a term so "BIG" and filled with mystery, love has come to me at that time...thank you Jian Yao! and thank you Liang Hin!!

Grow up

I am thinking about my university days as next week will be the last lecture week for me and graduation is really closer than I could imagine. My uni days were probably not as exciting and as interesting as other phase of my life but as I sit down tonight to recall on this journey in University Malaya, I believe this is the phase that I call "Grow Up".

Is this still relevant?

There isn't anything spectacular to remember but I believe this was the phase I call grow up because this was the moment I left my comfort zone. No more mentor...no more people to talk to about my problems...most of the travellings throughout this period were on my own....financially, I need to start taking responsibility (and seriously, it was not easy and it is still not easy today)

Nothing seems to be right as I walk on to the next step,

It seems that "Growing Up" gives me another kind of nightmare,

Nothing seems to be the way it used to be,

"Growing Up" means taking responsibility,

I used to have someone watching over me,

But now that I "Grow Up", it's time for me to watch over someone else,

The moment of laughter,

The moment of joy,

The moment of pain, sorrow, and all other emotions...

I'll learn to embrace,

Maybe that is what "Growing Up" means,

and someday, in the process of "Growing Up",

I'll understand God's plan..

I wrote this, with the fear of growing up and with the anticipation that I always have....

The smartphones frenzy...

I have got the iPhone 4 for about a month plus and so far, it's pretty good. Well, the phone definitely lack customization and is pretty much the same all the time, unlike the Android phones or the previously Windows Mobile.

Anyway, a friend of mine, BabaHo bought the Blackberry before I even had the iPhone for more than a month. And she's loving it from what I heard.
Then, just not long later, WeiHoong got himself the iPhone 4 as well. Honestly, it was pretty gay to be walking along with someone having the same phone as you but thank God iPhone is quite common so it ain't that bad.

After that, Tom bought the LG Optimus One for himself. Android phone and we even played with the phone a day before our Monte Carlo examination.
Then, just a day before the RM28 per month offer for the Dg Smart Plan over, Chin Sian followed suit by purchasing the HTC Desire HD.

Well, I guess we are all going to graduate soon and having the smartphone is definitely better. (ask those who bought them)

The GPS functionality (Wei Hoong and I use the Google Navigator only while Tom bought the reliable Papago) helps us in direction when we are lost.
Facebook addict (BabaHo, Wei Hoong and myself) could easily post update, comment on photos and play with our smartphone, checking out on the latest updates.
Then, there is the Foursquare frenzy...I still couldn't figure out how Wei Hoong could earn so much points despite him having much lesser badge and mayorship...Imagine checking in to a place and realizing that your buddy is just around the corner...the power of Foursquare!!
And what about blogging? I love it whenever some thoughts come across my mind and I could easily access to blogspot before the thought went missing...
Then we have the games....we were playing games, competing on the top scores...and of course, I'm proud to say I win WeiHoong...hahaha!!
What else? Free chat...that's where Whats App comes in...I love it everytime I use it to message with people like Addie, Evon and others...

Of course, there are more fun with the smartphones and I am sure Chin Sian will find out about it soon enough...so what are you waiting for?

Ways to fight stress

If you are going through a difficult moment, you can take heart knowing that there are ways to make you feel better. After all, it is important to make sure that you find joy and meaning in life.

1) Finding calm in the midst of a hectic period

First of all, it is important that we find ourselves at a state of calm and rational in the midst of a hectic period. Most people do not realize that when you are rushing for something, most of the time, you miss out on the important details.

Need for relaxation

There are times that I find it difficult to rest when I have the tests and exams coming up, assignments and other workloads. During this period of time, I realize that I lack of focus and at times, the stress and pressure could be unbearable. During this time, it is important to relax oneself. If I were at home, I would do mask and take a 15 to 30 minutes rest. I will try to find a good posture to sit and lie down as well as it helps me to cool and calm down. I also realized that doing some stretching for about 10 minutes and going for shower after that helps me to regain my focus and composure again. Breathing is also important, exhaling and inhaling with focus. Count 1 to yourself as you exhale and 2 in your next exhale.

2) Make use of your bad mood...

If you are in a bad mood due to bad service or the circumstances caused by others, voice out. However, it is important to do so in a constructive manner.
When you scold and voice your dissatisfaction, it is important to be clear, strategic, constructive and also moderate.
Make sure that the person understand why you are dissatisfied and you are complaining with valid reasons. You must strategize your complaints as in you must direct and channel your reasonings and complaints to the right people, people who can make decision and people who are interested in your dissatisfaction. Then, you must also be constructive in your choice of words. For example, instead of saying "You are always being so lazy", you could probably use words like "There are times that you are not putting in enough effort". If you are able to convince the people who are listening to you in a constructive manner, there is a chance that you will win the case easily. Last but not least, moderation is the key. Do not go overboard in expressing your anger but do not put on a "Don't mind" attitude either. I still remembered I scolded a salesgirl in Digi Centre at Jusco when I wanted to buy the Blackberry. I was showing to her that I was in fact dissatisfied with the service and that she needs to improve on her knowledge of her product but I believe I did not go overboard as I did not repetitively scolded on her. I was showing my anger and dissatisfaction but I did not go overboard and I guess moderation is the key here.

3) SMILE!! It helps!!

I know it is probably difficult to smile when you are facing a lot of pressure and stress but it really helps in a lot of ways. I remembered seeing the Smile Campaign in my university library.

A baby smile is all you need...

At first I felt it was quite ridiculous for such a campaign but I think it is important because sometimes, a little smile somehow help to lift your spirit for the day. Staying happy can have a powerful impact for your day....so if you are feeling down, look for something that make you smile!!

4) Squeeze in Exercise in your busy schedule...

The other day, Weoi Loong called me to go for a 2.4km for his Sports Science assignment. Apparently, he wanted to take the heart rate after running. I went for the run and I was feeling much better after that. A better sleep and also a much more refreshing feel for myself. It has been quite some time since I went for running or jogging but it is something that helps to keep you alert, focus and also to fight the stress. Most of the time, exercise helps me to fight anxiety, stress and boost happiness.

Exercise is the best way to love yourself..

I guess I'll probably go back to the drawing board and replan my time-table as I wanted exercise to be part of the weekly schedule. (daily would be better but scientific research has positive results that 20 to 30 minutes of exercise weekly will be good enough for boosting your daily life if you lead an active lifestyle)

5) Feeling blues? Go SOCIAL!!

Well, if you are feeling stress and burn out, probably it is time to go SOCIAL! Most people feel lonely and tired when they are stress...and naturally, the negative thoughts come first but if you have friends with you, it helps you as you have someone to share your thoughts with and having your buddies listening to your stories gonna lift your mood in a significant way.
Most of the time, I would go for drinks with my friends, talk about some light issues, share some simple jokes and it really helps to boost my mood and turn up the mood for the next day work.

Friends in need are friends indeed!!

Of course, with the internet, social also means Facebook and Twitter as well. It helps in a lot of ways and I guess this is where social network comes in with positive impact. So, the next time you are feeling blue, try Facebook or if you prefer to conservative way, give your friend a message or a call and go hangout!! Go SOCIAL!!

Genting trip with university friends

I am not the kind of person who like to travel for fun. I prefer to sit in a comfortable environment, with close friends, loved ones or family members, listening to musics that I love...linkin park, Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, Guang Liang and many others.
So, when Soon Aik invited us to go Genting for a guys' outing, I was rather reluctant but since we will all be graduating soon, I decided to go.
The week was tiring with 3 super hard tests but I guess I managed to go through all of them in a positive manner. So, when I arrived at Genting, I felt good because the weather was very good...cooling and relaxing, felt like a free country (a term used by a friend of mine).
We had lunch in 1U before going to Genting...ate porridge with Clement and Choon Foong.
Then upon arriving, we rested in the hotel, head for the casino for a while. (kinda dislike the place because the smoke and lightings make my eyes and head to be very uncomfortable.
We had an awesome dinner inside the casino...25buckS like that..
After that it was resting time for me...I didn't do much but I need the rest in a comfortable place so I guess Soon Aik choosing Genting is a good option.
At night time, we went for Safari...nothing really but the decoration was nice although definitely not a place worth going for club...
I guess it would be great to come here for the weather once a while...perhaps the next time I go, I would do stuff that I prefer...
Had a caramel latte in Starbucks before going back...
Anyway couldn't post any photos using my iPhone since I'm blogging this while on the way back from Genting...gonna take a short nap in the bus now...adios!!

Up early for class 2 days in a row

I'm not the kind of person who manage to do something consistently especially if it requires me to wake up early...so I'm glad this is the 2nd days in a row that I'm awake at 6.15am...

I've been up early, update myself with some of the news from CNN and pulse from the phone....anyway three tests this week starting tomorrow so I guess I'll cut on my sleep even more...wanna do well this time around...

Boring weekend

Was feeling tired today as I slept quite late yesterday...watched the Manchester united game and then studies...
Anyway was really bored today so I played with the ninja fruit in my iPhone...I got the full version already...(no jailbreaking)

Well I guess my family are enjoying themselves in Jusco while I sit in KL eating oats for dinner...sucks man...

Anyway, enough of complaints...time to study...

Pray for Japan

First of all, it was the earthquake...8.9 magnitud earthquake that struck Japan...
Then, the earthquake triggered a tsunami devastating enough to make things even worse for Japan...
Official sources now estimate that more that 10,000 people have been killed. Hundreds of thousands are homeless. There are now rolling power blackouts affecting 5 million people.

That's tragedy enough....but just when you think it wouldn't get worse, there was a third explosion at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Three of the four reactors are now severely damaged. There is a 20km evacuation zone around the plant, and those living in a further 10 km band have been warned to stay inside. So, instead of focusing on the recovery alone, we are talking about a possible nuclear crisis. French authorities say it now just one notch below Chernobyl.

I really didn't know what else we could do...in fact, there is very little that we could do...it was really at this time that it reminded me so often, we are helpless in so many situation...so, let us do our part in prayer and if you don't mind, donate a little for Japan...you can click on this link and you just need to follow the simple instruction there...WORLD VISION FOR JAPAN

Feeling tired

Was blogging this while on the car back to home after visit my grandma in hospital fatimah. Anyway I was feeling really tired and there are times when I just wanna off my phone, get my favorite book, head to Starbucks on my own and stay there for a few hours...I'm probably tired socially, mentally and also physically...
Every week I had to travel back and the 3 hours journey is starting to feel like a lot longer especially when I felt so exhausted after all the tests weekly...
It doesn't help with other works that I'm preoccupied with..
It also feel a lot more tiring when I go out these days...it was as if I'm trying to make time for people around me and I don't get to relax on my own...
Having the iPhone helps in certain ways as there are things that I could do on the go like blogging, surf net and also memorize formulas for my exams and tests...
Anyway I'll probably rest in Ipoh on Monday as well...just wanna get some good rest before I head back to KL for another round of tests...

I guess I'm just out of battery...run out of juice...aiks!!

BadAss Coffee

I've never been to this place but yesterday, Tom, Wei Hoong and I head to BadAss Coffee in Tropicana City Mall.
Well, the name of the place was rather awesome...
We took some photos there before we even order our drinks.

We waited for Aaron in the coffee shop, and here is my drink...this is one of the few places that actually offer Kona coffee, a type of coffee beans cultivated all the way from Hawaii...sounds cool right?

Well, we decided to share and buy some food...it's pretty yummy!!

It was cut into 4 slices and each of us took one while we left the remaining one for Aaron.

I also took the photos of the doughnut available and they are quite huge in size. Anyway, I'm glad to be out chilling a while...a good time to go relax and have a nice coffee after having to watch my favourite football team, Manchester United lost 3-1 to Liverpool....Aih...really sad when I think bout the defeat.

Well, I guess that's all for now...if you are looking for a new coffee place besidees Starbucks, AustinChase, CoffeeBean or Old Town, this could just be it...BADASS Coffee...i guess the name stands out in comparison to the rest although I still feel that the coffee in Starbucks are better.

After coming back from KL, I need to wait in the cafe at the train station...so I decided to blog using the BlogBooster app on my iPhone..

The place is quite okay although I have to say the food kinda sucky but the nescafe is just Nescafe!!

Anyway I have been playing with the iPhone 4 camera lately and it's really very good...well, i'm very tired actually but I know it's gonna be a long weekend...gosh...wish I have more time to sleep...

I've played around with the FaceTime once or twice but it really wasn't the main function of the iPhone 4 although it's good to use it to impress others...

Anyway enough with the iPhone 4...I had a funny encounter in the train just now and the girl sat next to me was talking about God and Jesus to me...was feeling rather annoyed though as I was actually trying to study my C++...however for polite sake, I talked to her for a while and though initially she only requested for 5 minutes, she used about 30 minutes...and at the end of the conversation, I realized she is also from UM and same year as me...luckily not the same course..

Alright enough of my lame story of the day...wanna go and play Digi game...

Modern furniture for my future house...

Well, since my brother was planning on his house renovation, it made me wonder the kind of house that I wanna live in when I grow up...

I think it seems a bit weird but I'm not the kind of person who love big house and stuff like that. Rather, I prefer for the design and furnitures to be something that I love. Since I won't be able to buy a house on my own at the moment, I think about the furniture that I would want in my room when we shift to the new house.

Many of these new designs were inspired from the use of more modern materials such as plywood, plastics and steel. My brother and I would probably opt for either white or black, depending on the products that we would be buying. We intend to get ourselves the Xbox Kinect...it's something that's too cool to be ignored. So, we probably want an Xbox theme, which would be black and green...something like that.

I want modern furniture that would show some futuristic design and style...anyway, it all depends on the budget as well...

we wouldn't want our room to be crowded if we are using Kinect..

We would prefer something simple...because Kinect only function well without any interception between the user and the device. It requires quite a big space.

A coffee table with simple design would be good. I would love to get the Surface for the home but it's way too expensive...10,000USD....shitty stuff man!!

Now, who wouldn't want this kind of futuristic stuff in their home...I might not be capable at the moment but I'll work towards that goal...

Well, the food is not bad but you get sick of it pretty fast...and although I would give credit to the design and taste of the food, I felt that the portion is too big...maybe people who run food business should start consider giving more average portion of food to avoid wastage. While the environment is okay and you probably find that this is one of the busiest place in Gardens, the sitting place ain't that comfortable.

We felt that the seats are a bit too short and low in comparison to the table so when you eat, you probably couldn't rest and sit comfortably on your seats...

Anyway, after that, we went to Machines to ask about the MacBook but to Kok Wei's disappointment, the education discount is only eligible for those who buy it via online. So, he will have to wait for about a week plus even after he order it online as the shipping might take some time.

I just got the new iPhone 4 last week. After buying and using it for about a week, here are my reviews on the iPhone 4.
These are the photos that I took.
The first thing that I really like the iPhone 4 is of course the design. The retina display has been awesome...

Well, enough of the beauty of the iPhone 4. The skin is smooth...the design is cool...the slim design is terrific but then a good smartphone is not just about the design right?

Anyway, a lot of my friends have been talking about "jailbreaking" but then I didn't do it...not bold enough for it but I still have a lot of good apps. I am not going to talk about the apps for now since I'll leave it for some other time.

For now, I wanna talk about some other things...

I'll probably talk about the good factors that I like about the iPhone 4.

Well, the design is definitely an awesome one as mentioned earlier...so that's one of the things that I like...although initially I felt that the 3GS design was nicer but after playing with it for a while, I find it to be actually better.

Besides the design, I am also glad that I purchased the iPhone 4 using the Digi plan...thus, I can be connected with the internet all the time. Thus, the push notification is pretty useful...all the updates from Facebook, email and many others are quite good.

Initially, I was quite fed up with the fact that I need to slowly write down all my contacts into the iPhone 4 but with the usage of Outlook, I managed to sync all my contacts into the phone....although there are some duplicates, I am still quite satisfied with it. I'll try to think of ways to merge all of these duplicates using the Outlook instead.

Of course, the camera was another good factor. I had no idea how Apple actually do it but the camera is really quite good....5 megapixels and the flash...really quite a good camera phone...

With applications such as Whats app, TextMe, PingChat, Nimbuzz and many others, I am able to connect with my friends all the time. People like Evon, my cousin Benjamin and many others could chat with me for free and it really feel like I'm using the sms and not other apps. It is also possible to blog on the go using Blogbooster...a free app and it's actually quite good.

Checking email is also very smooth and playing games occassionally was pretty fun as well....I'll blog more about the apps some other time though.

Alright, enough of all the good factors...now here are some of the things that you should take note of...something not so good about the iPhone 4...

Antenna issue still happening...well, it is not that serious but I could still see that the signal on the iPhone 4 drops when I hold the phone in a certain way...drop calls issue has not happened but the drop in signal shows that the issue is really there.
Battery draining too fast? Well, first of all, I'm not too sure if this is normal but while I use the iPhone 4 with the wifi and 3G on, the battery is gone pretty fast. Then I decided to try off the connection when I go to bed...and try use the iPhone 4 for about a day and here is the result..about 8 hours of usage and 16 hours plus of standy....of course, I did plug in the iPhone 4 for a while to sync certain stuff but only for a while. I used it a lot for sms, calls, web browsing and also play some games, and also download apps...

The battery ain't as good as boasted but still bearable...

The occassional lag....now this is something that I did not expect from an Apple product. Of course, it was not that serious and the lag only happen when I have most of my social networks running and music is on, while playing NinJump...but still, the occasional lag kinda be pretty disappointing.
