Let the party begin in Brazil [Part 2]

The clock is ticking. The time is near...it's now or never for some of the players, a new experience for some...32 countries....in Brazil...

Let the game begin

The game will kick off at 4am (Malaysia time) tomorrow. The opening ceremony will be at 2am.

As continued from previous post, Let the party begin in Brazil, here are the odds and predictions for Group E to Group H.

Group E

France got it easy...

France should be able to proceed without much issue...

There is really no other way to describe it but France got it easy this tournament. They were paired with easily the weakest Pot 1 team in Switzerland, a solid side, no doubt, but one that lacks a true superstar. Neither Ecuador nor Honduras are a threat to advance out of this group, so France should move on to the knockout phase by default.

Switzerland should advance with little issue as well. They don't have the big-name stars of France, but they cruised through European qualifying and have a solid group that plays quite well together. This is the easiest group to project. Should be pretty straightforward.

Group F

Can Messi finally win the coveted World Cup?

Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain, Angel Di Maria—those are just four of the reasons Argentina should dominate this group.

But second place would be a more difficult choice.

Bosnia-Herzegovina is one of the more underrated teams in the field, led by in-form Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, Roma starlet Miralem Pjanic and Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic.

Their match against Nigeria will be key. The Nigerians are the defending Africa Cup of Nations champions and boast some serious talent, led by Vincent Enyeama, John Obi Mikel, Ahmed Musa and Victor Moses.

It will be difficult but Bosnia has slightly better chance here.

Group G

Ronaldo, the player of the year...could this be his year?

It's great to see how Ronaldo scored against Sweden but here, in this tournament, there is more than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. There are more players that are better together and Ronaldo is going to have to be on top form to bring Portugal into this one.

But before we even talk about winning the Cup, let's talk about the chances on proceeding the group stage.

Here, we have one of the favourites to win the World Cup, Germany. There is the United States of America, which is a much better team under Klinsmann. But this should be pretty straightforward...Germany and Portugal.

Last but not least, Group H

Belgium is one of the favourite here in Brazil.

With stars like Eden Hazard, Vincent Kompany, Romelu Lukaku, Jan Vertonghen, Axel Witsel and Dries Mertens, this team is absolutely stacked. They are expected to win this group stage for sure.

Russia probably will grab the second spot, after a convincing performance in the qualifying. Not much chance for Algeria and South Korea here.
