I nearly forgotten about the Office 365 Home subscription is coming to an end soon. Thankfully, my device reminded me....and here we go.
The other day I have heard from a friend who shared that he didn't need 1TB cloud storage, which makes sense but Office 365 Home has more benefits than just the 1TB cloud storage.
Here's a quick comparison for you to see...
Office 365 Home vs Office Home & Student 2016
Well, first of all, Office 365 Home is a subscription service, of which you could opt for yearly renewal or monthly renewal. (RM379.99 per year or RM37.99 per month). The Office Home & Student 2016 on the other hand is an office product. (a one time RM569.99).
Office 365 Home suites include the following: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Access, One Drive (1TB), Skype, and it could be used for 5PCs or Macs plus 5 tablets including iPad, Android or Windows (1TB cloud storage per user for up to 5 users), 60 minutes monthly Skype calls per user, ongoing access to updates (whenever there is new updates to Office).
Office Home & Student 2016 has the following: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote. You could store files in cloud with OneDrive, view, share or edit your documents online along with great new Word and Excel templates.
But if you notice that with the Office Home & Student 2016, you could only have 4 products in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. There's also no cloud storage. Not forgetting the 60 minutes monthly Skype calls per users (for up to 5 users), and the ongoing updates in Office 365.
While one may argue that he or she could use the Office Home & Student software for a long time but I wouldn't be wrong to say that after three years, a new Office is important to keep you up-to-date.
So honestly, while the product offers a cheaper alternative, the Office 365 Home subscription along with its benefits make it a better value buy.
